1. Open the ink cartridge cover and wait until the carriage stops moving.
2. Press the release tab and remove the empty cartridge.
3. Unpack the new cartridge and remove any protective tape (do not touch the contacts).
4. Insert the cartridge firmly until it clicks, then close the cover.
5. Run a nozzle check / cleaning cycle if the printer prompts you.

• Printer shows “Low/Replace Ink” or a flashing ink indicator.
• Faded prints, missing lines, or color shifts on documents/photos.
• Check the printer’s status monitor / maintenance page for ink level alerts.
• Print a test page (nozzle check) to confirm which color is affected.

• Run the printer’s built-in “Cleaning” function, then print a nozzle check.
• If needed, repeat cleaning once more (avoid excessive cycles in a row).
• Use a lint-free cloth to gently wipe ink residue around the cartridge area.
• Use quality paper and correct print settings to reduce clogging risk.

1. Confirm you selected the correct cartridge for your exact Brother model.
2. Remove and reinsert the cartridge until it clicks.
3. Check that all protective tape is fully removed.
4. Power cycle the printer (off → unplug 60 seconds → restart).

• Use draft mode for internal documents; print in grayscale when possible.
