Turn Off Automatic Firmware Updates, Where Supported

If your cartridge instructions recommend disabling automatic firmware updates and your printer provides that option, turn automatic installation off before proceeding. The setting and menu name vary by model; check the printer’s settings, software, or manufacturer instructions.
Keep update decisions separate from installation. Disabling automatic updates does not undo an update already installed or guarantee cartridge compatibility. Prepare the Cartridge Before Installation
Follow the handling sequence included with your cartridge. If it instructs you to hold the cartridge upside down before installation, keep it in that position for 1–2 minutes.
Remove the designated shipping tape or protective cap at the stage shown in the instructions. If your cartridge has a yellow pull tape that must be removed, make sure that tape is fully removed before inserting the cartridge. Tape color, cap design, and removal order vary by cartridge.
Turn On the Printer and Open the Access Door
